The downloaded files are compressed and must first be unzipped. Make sure all other applications are closed before beginning this process.
Of the files you have downloaded, double click "FFXIFullSetup_US.part1.exe". You will be prompted to select a folder in which to decompress the files. If you are satisfied with the destination folder, press the button to decompress the files.

* To change the destination folder, select "Browse" and choose your desired folder.
Once the decompression process is complete, a folder named "FFXIFullSetup_US" will be created in the destination folder. This subfolder contains the client installer.
- Double click FFXISetup.exe located in the FFXIFullSetup_US folder to start the client installer.
- Select the application(s) that you wish to install and click the Install button.

* If this is your first time installing the client, make sure to select all available applications.

Installing DirectX
(If you have checked DirectX End User Runtime in the client installer)

"Start DirectX Setup" will display on screen. Follow the instructions to install.

* If you have checked any other applications in the client installer, the installation process will continue once DirectX has been installed.

Installing the PlayOnline Viewer
(If you have checked the PlayOnline Viewer in the client installer)

"Welcome to the PlayOnline Viewer Setup Wizard" will display on screen. Follow the instructions to install.

* If you have checked any other applications in the client installer, the installation process will continue once the PlayOnline Viewer has been installed.

Installing FINAL FANTASY XI
(If you have checked FINAL FANTASY XI in the client installer)

"Welcome to the FINAL FANTASY XI Setup Wizard" will display on screen. Follow the instructions to install.

Please also note the following :

If the status of your FINAL FANTASY XI service account has been set to "cancelled", you will need to reactivate it through the Square Enix Account Management System. |
* |
In the event that you would like to restore a character that you played with previously that is no longer available, please apply for this through the Character Reactivation Service site. |
* |
If a registration code for a certain expansion has not been registered to your service account, you will not be able to play that expansion's content. |
